About me

Hello, I’m María Fernanda Losada, a professional Contemporary and Ballet dancer originally from Argentina. My passion for dance has taken me on an unforgettable journey around the world, performing on international stages, collaborating with renowned choreographers, and exploring both classical and contemporary dance.

My journey

began in Mendoza, Argentina, where I trained at Escuela de Ballet María Cristina Hidalgo from 2001 to 2013. This foundational period shaped my classical technique and instilled in me a deep passion for ballet.

To further refine my skills, I moved to Buenos Aires, immersing myself in an environment that blended tradition with innovation. There, I gained valuable experience and prepared for the next step in my artistic path.

In 2015, I pursued advanced training at the prestigious Conservatorio Annarella in Leiria, Portugal, where I completed a full-time program. Under the guidance of renowned choreographers such as Annarella Sanchez, Enrique Perez Cancio Cantero, and Ricardo Flores, I expanded my repertoire, mastering both classical and contemporary techniques. This experience was instrumental in shaping my versatility as a dancer, allowing me to adapt seamlessly across styles.

With these strong foundations, I continued my artistic development at Dance Area in Geneva, Switzerland (2017-2019), where I trained under internationally acclaimed choreographers such as Gil Carlos Harush, Fernanda Diniz, and Edouard Hue. During this time, I also became a member of Area Jeune Ballet, the school’s junior company, which gave me the opportunity to gain professional stage experience early in my career. I performed works such as “Missing” by Gil Carlos Harush, “SAM” by José Agudo, and “Cage of Gods” by Fabio López, taking on both duet and ensemble roles. As part of the company, I performed in prestigious festivals and venues across Europe, including Cadences Arcachon (France), F-DAM Festival (Annecy, France), Bâtiment des Forces Motrices (Geneva), and Music Festival Genève.

Building upon this experience, I had the privilege of performing as a demi-soloist with the Székesfehérvári Balett Színház in Hungary (2019-2022). During my time with the company, I collaborated with renowned choreographers such as Attila Egerházi, Kristian Ole Tangen, Alexander Ekman, and Lukas Timulak, performing in works that challenged me both technically and artistically. These years allowed me to refine my expressiveness, develop a deeper connection with storytelling through movement, and further expand my artistic versatility.

Currently

I am part of the Brussels City Ballet, where I performed the soloist role of Carmen, showcasing my powerful acting and expressive abilities. This role solidified my passion for emotionally intense and challenging characters. Alongside my work with Brussels City Ballet, I also work as a freelance artist, contributing to innovative dance projects.

For me, dance is more than an art form; it is a means of expression that connects cultures, emotions, and people. Every project, every stage, is an opportunity to share my passion, grow as an artist, and create unforgettable experiences for audiences.

“I believe dance is a conversation without words, where each movement connects souls and tells stories that words cannot express.”
